Registration is now open for the Estuary Explorers summer camps for fourth through eighth graders, organizers said.
The summer camp is hosted by the Puget Sound Estuarium.
The “Salmon” camp for fourth and fifth graders will take place from July 21-25, and the “Orcas” camp for sixth through eighth graders will be held from Aug. 4-8. The cost for nonmembers is $275, and $250 for members. There are also limited low-income spots available.
Students will visit local parks and beaches, and learn about native plants and animals, organizers said.
Camp activities include a touch pool exploration, marine dissections, hands-on experiments, ecosystem connections, STEM activities, and plant and animal ID.
Each day, campers will visit a new location. Those locations include Swanton Marina, Squaxin Park, Brewery Park, Millersylvania State Park and Tolmie State Park.
More registration information is available on the Puget Sound Estuarium website.
