An expired registration on a small truck prompted Olympia police to stop the vehicle early Monday morning, April 20, yielding a pair of illegal brass knuckles and a passenger with multiple felony warrants outstanding.
At approximately 5:04 a.m. two Olympia Police officers in a marked patrol car noticed that the 1989 Dodge Dakota truck in front of them at the intersection of Martin Way and Lilly Rd NE had expired vehicle tabs from November 2018.
After pulling over the driver, Jesse C. Hunotte, 45, the officers noticed a pair of illegal brass knuckles under him when the driver went to grab for his identification out of his rear back pocket.
Hunotte had active misdemeanor warrants out of Yelm and Lewis County for theft. Hunotte was released at the scene after being arrested for 1) possession of weapons and 2) driving with a suspended license. The brass knuckles were placed into evidence.
Olympia Police also noted that Hunotte’s female passenger, Cammi Graham, 37, was not wearing a seat belt. She was “not compliant” and provided one of the Olympia officers with a false name, even spelling it for the officer. She also claimed her birthday was in 1986, although she told the officers that she was 33.
Dispatch had no record of an individual with the false name given. Upon further investigation, officers discovered that Graham had multiple felony warrants for her arrest in multiple counties, including a $50,000 felony warrant out of Lewis County.
Graham was booked into the Lewis County Jail for her outstanding warrant. She was also given a criminal citation for false statements and an infraction for the seatbelt violation.
