A man allegedly assaulted an employee at a downtown nightspot, tackling and wrestling him to the ground, on Sunday, August 8.

Timothy David Valentine, 38, of Graham, had allegedly been harassing people inside China Clipper Club Café at 402 4th Ave E, in downtown Olympia, and been asked to leave by the lead bartender.

Another employee started to escort Valentine out of the establishment. Valentine became aggressive and started pushing the employee, then tackled and wrestled him to the ground. Valentine grabbed the employee with “some kind of hold” and threw the door keeper onto his knee, which the employee felt “pop.”

Valentine denied any involvement when contacted by Olympia police, despite video and eyewitness evidence.

Valentine was booked into the Thurston jail on a charge of felony assault.
