Lacey MakerSpace and Thurston County's Solid Waste division are teaming up to host a "Fix-it Fair" on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
The fair is being held from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Lacey MakerSpace, Saint Martin’s University Campus, Zaverl Hall, Building 5, on Baran Drive SE in Lacey.
"Volunteer fixers will be on hand to help repair clothing, lamps, housewares, jewelry, small appliances, and more. The event is free and open to all," said the hosts in announcing the event.
The county’s Fix-It Fair received a 2025 Best in Category award from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for the free community event.
The county’s Solid Waste division organizes Fix-It Fair events to encourage people to repair items instead of buying new ones.
“When you fix items instead of buying new ones, you help reduce waste, support a circular economy, and save money,” said Thurston County Recycling and Waste Reduction Specialist Rob Pudner in a statement. “It’s a simple yet powerful way to make a positive impact right here in Thurston County.”
