Generations Protecting Puget Sound

Posted

Protect, Defend, and Celebrate the Region's Natural Resources! Southern Resident orcas are swimming on the brink of extinction, today they are considered one of the most endangered marine mammals in the world. To make matters worse, the Chinook salmon population these whales rely on for food is just a remnant of their former levels, leaving orca starving and malnourished. With the iconic Northwest species in dire straits - and with their fates intertwined - people cannot afford weak and ineffective recovery plans. Community members must partner with all stakeholders to forge strong and effective solutions that work for salmon, orca, and communities.

Join the forum on April 11 at the Washington Center to hear from Puget Sound Environmental Groups and Outdoor Enthusiasts about the natural resources that need protection and how local organizations are working together to provide that protection.
