Geotechnical work to impact traffic on Deschutes Parkway in Olympia

A busy intersection in Olympia will get a little more congested this week because of work associated with the Deschutes Estuary Restoration Project.

Traffic flow at Deschutes Parkway and Olympic Way by the 5th Avenue Bridge will experience congestion from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, the City of Olympia said in a construction and traffic alert.

"These impacts are happening in order to accommodate geotechnical investigative work associated with the Deschutes Estuary Restoration Project. Please plan on using alternate routes or add extra travel time," the update states.
