Get your favorite books from TRL anywhere, anytime

Recently updated, Timberland Regional Library’s mobile application allows those on the go to access their favorite books and resources from anywhere.

Available on Android and iOS, the Timberland Regional Library (TRL) mobile app comes with an abundance of features, including granting patrons access to their library cards and accounts online.

Anyone can browse or search for titles once they have downloaded the app, even without an account, said Timberland Regional Library Deputy Director Kendra Jones.

Once a patron logs into their account, they have full access to view checked out materials, place holds for pick up, and use links to a range of social media platforms, Jones said.

“It was extremely important to TRL to find a way to continue to provide our patrons with access to materials and service during the ongoing pandemic,” Jones said. “With many people looking to the internet and mobile apps for their needs, updating our mobile app was an effective way to accomplish that goal.”

Useful features of the TRL mobile app include a built-in scanner and GPS. Users can scan any book's barcode or International Standard Book Number (ISBN) to see if it is available in the TRL catalog.

Those visiting the library can scan their library card barcode directly from their phone at self-checkout.

“TRL’s mobile app makes it simple and convenient to search our collection from almost anywhere, and to check for up-to-date information about hours and closures,” Jones said.

The app can be used to find nearby TRL locations and access the “Plan Your Visit” page on TRL.org, where all current locations, hours and guidelines are listed.

Users can customize their layout preferences and language, and the app now includes a section listing all mobile apps available to anyone with a TRL library card.
