Three community organizations will receive a total of $640,000 funding in Treatment Sales Tax (TST) funds over two years to provide services in Thurston County.

The grants for the three community organizations approved by the Thurston County Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, January 9, will benefit Thurston County residents with mental health concerns or substance use disorders.

The three recipients of the grants are Providence Southwest WA Mobile Health Clinic, Interfaith Works, and Family Support Center of South Sound- Housing Support for Families in Treatment Courts.

The $254,421 grant for Providence Southwest WA Mobile Health Clinic will support a Mobile Health Clinic van serving rotating locations in Thurston County.

The mobile clinic van will provide outreach to unhoused individuals and engage them in coordinated care for mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring physical health problems.

Interfaith Works will be granted $236,438 for the same period to help the navigation team provide peer advocacy, care coordination, and connection to permanent housing, primary care, and behavioral health services to individuals at Interfaith Work’s Unity Commons shelter.

The $152,136 funding for the Family Support Center of South Sound- Housing Support for Families in Treatment Courts will provide intensive case management and housing search support for families with children enrolled in one of Thurston Country’s treatment courts.

The grants will be available to the three community organizations from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2025.

To qualify for TST funds, organizations must use evidence-based or promising practices, demonstrating consistent and effective help for people with substance abuse disorders or mental health concerns to achieve their goals.
