Griswold's Building demolition starts today

Griswold's Building is being taken down starting today, with demolition expected to end by March 25.

The former Griswold's Building on 308-310 4th Ave. in downtown Olympia is being demolished starting today.

Rognlin' Inc., is tearing down the building on behalf of the City of Olympia and is expected to finish in 20 working days, with most of the demolition set to be done by Mar. 25.

Demolition crews will be working on the site from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with city authorities working with nearby businesses to provide garbage service. Meanwhile, the public is advised of the following possible disruptions in the area:

Equipment noise during work hours.

Parking spots in front of Griswold's will not be accessible.
The sidewalk in front and sections of the alleys adjacent to the building will be closed.
Expect minor traffic delays from trucks hauling debris from the site.
