Healthcare Not Warfare

Posted

Take on the hard questions about healthcare and share your story on April 25.

The Thurston – Lewis – Mason Central Labor Council is partnering with Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility, Whole Washington, PNHP Washington, and other groups to present a Healthcare Not Warfare Town Hall at The Olympia Center on April 25 at 5:30 p.m.

In a country that spends $877 billion on the military, should medical debt be the leading cause of bankruptcy? Working people in the community are urged to join this non-partisan, educational event to take on the hard questions about America’s healthcare system and share their healthcare stories with the organizers and attendees.

Healthcare in the United States has the highest costs globally, leaving over 40 million workers (including the recently unemployed) unable to get the care they need due to unaffordable deductibles and copays.

Half a million people are forced into bankruptcy each year due to medical bills, even though most were insured when they became sick or injured.
