Henderson Boulevard repaving project to start on Monday

Two-mile route extends from North Street to Plum Street

Henderson Boulevard, one of the most pothole-damaged arterial roads in Thurston County, is set to be repaved starting Monday, April 4.

The section to be repaved extends from North Street, next to the Pioneer Elementary School/Olympia High School campus north through Watershed Park up to the entrance to Interstate 5.  The project was scheduled to start next week because schools are closed for spring break.

The city will be grinding the failing pavement, repaving, and striping to fix the potholes and pavement damages caused by low temperatures, snow and rain. Travelers are advised to find alternative routes, obey flaggers, and use caution when driving through the area.

Construction is expected to last until mid-April, carried out by contractor Lakeside Industries, the City noted in its statement.

Questions may be directed to Public Works Engineering 360-753-8422 or to City Engineer Fran Eide through email.
