Public transit riders in Thurston County could win $50 gift cards just by taking the bus this month.
In celebration of Ride Transit Month, Thurston Regional Planning Council (TRPC) and Intercity Transit have teamed up for the Ride the Rainbow sweepstakes.
To get a chance to win, participants must ride seven bus routes in the county through July 3. Trips taken through rural TRANSIT, Lewis County Transit, Mason Transit and Grays Harbor Transit routes also qualify.
Commuters can count multiple routes ridden during a single trip. If a trip requires traveling on two different routes to reach the destination, a participant can count the journey as two routes toward the required seven.
Joining is free. Participants just have to be at least 18 years old to qualify.
To get started, a form to list the routes riders have taken is available for download here. It is also available at the Intercity Transit customer service center at the Olympia Transit Center.
Completed forms can be submitted via email to ThurstonCommutes@trpc.org or sent by mail to 2411 Chandler Court SW, Olympia, WA, 98502.
Forms can also be submitted via text at 360-741-2532. The deadline to submit the form is July 10. A drawing for prizes takes place on July 14. Winners will be notified by email.

Let us discuss revenue. I recently returned from Stuttgart Germany. A day pass, encompassing train, tram, bus was about $6. So Olympia is not Stuttgart by any stretch. How about $2? You have got to move on from zero revenue and depend on the sales tax
