House of Mirth is based on Edith Wharton's novel of the same title.
Lily Bart is the center of New York elite. Surrounded by wealth and its trappings, she is penniless and looking for love...and a husband. Unfortunately, love and a husband don't come in the same person in this society.
House of Mirth follows the material girl turned pillar of morality as she is swallowed up by the cruel reality of her own society.
