Individual recently released from jail arrested anew after alleged burglary

A Lakewood resident who was recently released from jail was arrested anew after allegedly stealing from a Lacey convenience store.

Lacey officers were dispatched to the local store last night after a reported burglary, the Lacey Police Department said in a Facebook post.

The building was cleared for suspects, and they contacted the business owner, who then gave police access to the video surveillance system, allowing them to obtain a good image of the suspect.

Lacey police shared the image among themselves and the Olympia Police Department officers.

At about 12:40 a.m., the suspect was detained for burglary and theft.

Photographs show that the suspect allegedly stole several items, most of which were packs of cigarettes.

Nearly all the stolen merchandise was returned to the store, Lacey police said.

The photo's caption says "several items" were stolen. Several? It looks like the thief would've needed a wheelbarrow.
