Intercity Transit continues to be an excellent transit system. Sadly, not as many people take advantage of it. Perhaps if they knew that it is FREE, all the TIME, for EVERYONE, more people would use this wonderful transit system we have here.

Letting the private sector operate the transit system would save money, probably improve services reduce congestion and emissions. Many cities worldwide use the private sector to provide adequate services at lower cost such as Curitiba, Brazil does. There is no reason we can't do so as well.

I'm puzzled at the idea that privatizing transit would be a good idea.
Then we would need a bureaucrat to assure that rural areas (less profitable) were still minimally served, that those emission reductions really happened, and we certainly would need a couple of bureaucrats to track, forever into the future, if congestion reduction was forthcoming. Why not leave it in the hands of people who are not trying to skim off a profit?
I like the job that Intercity Transit is doing.
And yes, I own a car, and yes, I also use the bus. Mainly to avoid needing to park downtown.

Such great news! More empty buses driving around. No wonder IT does not post it's ridership numbers on these routes that so desperately need expanded. If IT was a god steward of public funds, they would be driving MUCH smaller buses or vans around based on the capacity of their ridership no these huge expensive new buses wasting our tax dollars!
