The Intercity Transit Authority voted to retain its board leadership and committee assignments at its annual reorganization.
Authority members voted to reelect Lacey City Council member Carolyn Cox as chair and community representative Sue Pierce as vice chair. No other nominations were made for both positions.
According to authority's bylaws, the chair presides over all board meetings, coordinates with the agency’s general manager and clerk for their meeting agenda, signs resolution on behalf of the authority, and approves overnight travel for its members. The chair may be assigned additional duties as prescribed by the authority's resolutions.
On the chair's absence, the vice chair shall perform the duties.
The appointment of committee assignments was also straightforward, with existing representatives agreeing to continue their roles.
Cox reappointed Olympia City Council member Robert Vanderpool as the board’s representative to the Thurston Regional Planning Council with Tumwater City Council member Kelly Von Holtz as the alternate. Because Von Holtz absent from the meeting, Cox said she would confirm whether she would like to retain the assignment.
Community representative Justin Belk was also reappointed to the Transportation Policy Board, with Thurston County Commissioner Carolina Mejia as the alternate.
Pierce was also reappointed to continue representing the board on the agency’s pension committee.
