Intercity Transit seeks volunteers for Community Advisory Committee to shape public transit

Intercity Transit (IT) is inviting community members to join its Community Advisory Committee as volunteer advisors “to help shape public transit.”

In a press release, IT seeks 20 people who live, work, or study in Thurston County to provide input to the Intercity Transit Authority (ITA) on local public transportation issues. The individuals will provide a cross-section of the community who can provide representation for various groups and interests in the county.

ITA seeks the board to have representatives from:

  • Active-duty military and veterans
  • BIPOC
  • People living with disabilities
  • Fixed-income families
  • LGBTQ+ community
  • Seniors
  • Youth

Nineteen of the members will serve three-year terms, while the youth representative will have a one-year term. They will meet every third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m.

Applications are due on October 6, Friday.
