An apparently intoxicated man is accused of accosting a woman as she was trying to move into the Annie’s Artist Flats apartments in downtown Olympia last Saturday afternoon, April 24.

Olympia Police were advised by dispatch that Jason Lincoln, 32, was attempting to gain access to the vehicle of the female caller, and kept pulling on the door handle.

Lincoln denied do anything wrong and did say that he was trying to talk to some people that were moving into the apartments.

The female victim, along with three of her friends, verified that they were unpacking two vehicles when Lincoln approached and would not leave. He asked them for a place to stay and asked if he could get a ride.

The female victim said that Lincoln pushed her. She pushed him away, and he came back and pushed her again, threatening her with assault. Her husband witnessed this from a second vehicle a few feet away.

Olympia Police cornered Lincoln, who ranted that he lived in the apartments and referred to the other party as “transients” who did not “belong” there. In the police report, officers mentioned that Lincoln slurred his words and smelled of intoxicants within “five feet” of him through their cloth masks.

Lincoln was transported to the Olympia Jail and booked on simple assault.
