Traffic Advisory

Israel Road SW in Tumwater this weekend: expect interruptions

Posted

Motorists in Tumwater are advised to anticipate delays this weekend due to temporary traffic interruptions on Israel Road SW between Capitol Boulevard SE and Linderson Way SW.

The alterations are a result of the ongoing Israel-Linderson Water Main Replacement Project.

The affected stretch of Israel Road SW will be impacted from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both Saturday, October 14 and Sunday, October 15.

Work Zone A: The first work zone is located in front of Tumwater High School. Operations will occur between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on both days. Within this zone, traffic will be restricted to one lane alternating. This is to facilitate utility installations in front of the school’s entrance.

Work Zone B: The second work zone is situated near the intersection of Israel Road and Capitol Boulevard. Work in this area will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Eastbound traffic on Israel Road, between 6th Avenue and Capitol Boulevard, will be limited to local traffic only. Traffic will be redirected to 6th Avenue and Dennis Street. This is to complete utility installations near the intersection.

Motorists are strongly urged to exercise caution while passing through the work zones and follow the guidance of flaggers.

It is recommended to plan routes in advance and consider using alternate roads.

For any questions or concerns, you can reach out to the project’s communication team at (360) 252-5408 or via email.

All scheduled road construction projects are subject to change due to various factors, including adverse weather conditions, equipment issues, and project-related delays.
