Port of Olympia Commissioner Bob Iyall held a razor thin lead over challenger Jerry Toompas following the latest ballot count update in the Nov. 4 General Election.
As of 4:20 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, Iyall had a total of 37,236 votes or 49.80 percent, compared with 37,204 or 49.75 percent for Toompas, according to unofficial results from the Thurston County Auditor's Office Elections Division.
Toompas shaved nearly 100 votes off Iyall's lead from a ballot count update on Friday, Nov. 7.
A day earlier, Toompas held a 34 vote advantage after the ballot count was updated on Thursday, Nov. 6. That marked the first time he was up in the race.
A total of 80,678 votes have been cast in the Nov. 4 General Election in Thurston County. That marked a turnout of 37.81 percent.
There are an estimated 3,500 ballots left to be counted. The next ballot count update is set for Wednesday, Nov. 12.
