For the first time in seven years, Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) will be holding its Airshow and Warrior Expo July 15-16 at the McChord Field, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

“We’ll also celebrate 50 years of women in modern military aviation and 30 years of women in combat aviation, JBLM said in its press release.

Themed “Warriors Wanted: Explore Your Destiny,” this year’s airshow will feature more than a dozen air acts, as well as JBLM personnel with dozens of airframes and vehicle displays.

Attendees of the free show will be invited to look inside the various aircraft and vehicles displayed during the event and interact with the crews who operate them.

“It’s our way to thank the Puget Sound community for their support of service members and military families,” said JBLM.
