John Webster died on September 9, 2025, in Lacey from complications following a bladder rupture.  He was born on August 7, 1945, in Luton, England, and came to the United States at 9 months of age on the Queen Mary with his mother, Penny Webster.

John was a very sociable person and loved life and enjoyed talking to everyone that he met and knew.    He was a big volunteer with his high school football team at North Thurston High School in Lacey, Wash.    He will be missed by so many of his friends and family.

The memorial service will be held this Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 1 p.m. at St. Benedict Episcopal Church, 910 Bowker St SE, Lacey, WA 98503.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions in John's name to NAMI Washington, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

His surviving family members are his sister, Marion E. Zacha, and her husband, Zach, from West Linn, Oregon and their daughter Charlene Adrian, from  Camas, Washington.

Publisher's Note

John Webster worked for me with enthusiasm and creativity from 2005 through 2008. He became well-known in Lacey as he delivered Coffee News, the single-page community newsletter, throughout the city and, for a while, throughout Mason County, too.  We had many adventures together.  I learned a lot from John and was honored to call him a friend for several years.

If you ever met John, you likely wouldn't forget him. He was eager to engage in conversation and fearless about introducing himself to anyone.
