Individuals interested in running for the Olympia School District Board of Directors are invited to join the School Board Candidate Workshop.
The workshop, which was announced on the district’s website, is scheduled at the district board room at 111 Bethel St. NE on April 22 from 5-6:30 p.m.
The Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA) will lead the workshop.
WSSDA will be providing an overview of board responsibilities and answering any questions from the participants.
“Board service is focused on governance and may be different than you expect. Join us for an Olympia School District-sponsored School Board Candidate Workshop to learn what the role really involves,” the district’s news release stated.
District 3 and District 5 board member positions are up for election.
District 3 is currently represented by Darcy Huffman and District 5 is currently represented by Scott Clifthorne.
