Juvenile armed carjacking suspects arrested after police chase

Tumwater Police Department (TPD) responded to reports of suspicious activity involving a BMW SUV on Monday, April 27, where individuals were seen tossing items, including clothes and a car seat, before fleeing the scene.

According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) news release, the SUV's license plate revealed it was stolen from Bellevue.

A TCSO deputy later spotted the vehicle moving down I-5 southbound at 130 mph.

Despite repeated orders to pull over, the suspects refused to comply.

The pursuit was halted because the current laws state that possession of a stolen vehicle is not grounds for a chase.

“A short time after terminating, TCSO learned the vehicle was taken in an armed carjacking, which would have made the pursuit lawful,” TCSO stated.

The chase resumed, and eventually, the vehicle was spiked and apprehended in Clark County, with the juvenile occupants taken into custody.

“On June 6th, Washington State pursuit laws will be amended, permitting TCSO the opportunity to pursue stolen vehicles when feasible,” TCSO stated.

And the damage to the vehicle will probably total it out. The fact that these thieves stole it in Bellevue tells me they're prolific.

One of the reasons car theft, especially by '''juveniles" has exploded is because law enforcement is no longer allowed to chase them, and the thieves (described as "good kids") are slapped on the wrist, released to their parents and have no consequences to their actions.

To them, the apprehension and wrist slap is all part of the game. I'm betting my lunch they say, hey, I was busted three times, how bout you?

"good" kids don't steal cars. Good kids don't shoplift. THese juveniles are thieves well on their way to a lifetime of crime.
