Lacey announces community events in February

Posted

Lacey is set to host two community events this February, offering residents opportunities to celebrate diverse cultures and explore local history.

The Lacey Culutral Celebration event will occur on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Saint Martin’s University’s Marcus Pavilion.

This cultural celebration will feature live music and dance performances by regional artists, hands-on cultural displays, and various food and craft vendors showcasing global traditions.

A sensory recovery area will be available inside the Worthington Center, and it wil be managed by Sensory Tool House.

This quiet space will offer calming activities, low lighting, and a peaceful atmosphere for children and adults needing a break from the event.

 History Talks with Lacey Museum

On Feb. 13, the History Talks with Lacey Museum  series will present "Who Was O. C. Lacey? A Century-Old Mystery Solved!” from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Lacey City Hall, Council Chambers.

Erin Quinn Valcho, the event’s speaker, will unveil discoveries about O. C. Lacey, a historical figure who mysteriously disappeared after a scandal in 1895.

The history talk is free, with doors opening at 6 p.m. In-person attendees are welcome, while online participation requires registration.

For more information about these events, visit the City of Lacey’s Community Events web page.
