Lacey City Council accepting applications for new committee on homelessness

Posted

LACEY -- The City of Lacey wants to find solutions to the area’s growing homelessness problem, and city officials want members of the community to help.

Applications are available to Lacey residents to join the city’s new Community-Based Committee on Homelessness, meant to find solutions to problems surrounding homelessness in the community. This 30-member committee would meet for a year to find homelessness response strategies, determine what current support resources exist and develop novel ideas to help solve issues connected to homelessness. The committee, according to the city website, will develop solutions that would contribute to regional homelessness response.

All Lacey residents are encouraged to apply, as well as residents of Lacey’s urban growth area. The application can be found here and it is due by June 22, 2020 at 5 p.m.
