Lacey City Council seeks historical commission member

Posted

LACEY –– The Lacey City Council seeks a professional with a background in history, architecture, historic preservation, anthropology, archaeology, cultural geography, planning, or American studies to fill a vacancy on the Historical Commission.

Applicants must be a City of Lacey resident or live in Lacey’s Urban Growth Area. However, the City Council may make appointments despite the residency and term limits based on diversity and level of experience needed on the Commission.

The Lacey Historical Commission provides leadership in raising awareness of Lacey’s history and preservation of local historic resources. The Commission guides creation of public education and interpretive programs, encourages conservation of items and properties that are of historic significance, and reviews nominations to the Lacey Register of Historic Places. The Historical Commission meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. Historical Commission members serve three-year terms with a two-term limit.

For more information, or to get an application for the Historical Commission, contact Kelly Adams at (360) 491-3214 or kadams@ci.lacey.wa.us. You can also download an application at ci.lacey.wa.us/Historical-Commission. Please submit a letter of interest and resume with your application.
