The City of Lacey announced on Thursday, July 24, that Woodland Creek Bridge is closed because of an infrastructure project at the site.
“As of Monday, July 21, crews have begun construction to replace the Woodland Creek Bridge, located just south of Woodland Creek Community Park at 6729 Pacific Ave. The bridge is closed to the public through the end of October,” the city said.
The city said work runs Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the construction work requires the use of heavy equipment and trucks.
“Site access points include Pacific Avenue SE via the Community Center parking lot and Carpenter Road, which leads onto the Woodland Trail,” the statement said.
According to the City of Lacey Public Works Department, flagging is not expected. Drivers may encounter minor slowdowns in the southbound lane of Carpenter Road and the eastbound lane of Pacific Avenue SE during work hours.
The city urged patience during the four-month project, which aims to improve infrastructure safety.
