The newly opened Lacey Museum welcomed the public to its revamped space, featuring exhibits on local history and guided tours on Thursday, Jan. 15.
The museum, located at 4160 6th Ave. SE, Suite 101, operates on Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"Today marks the first day the Lacey Museum welcomes visitors, and we are excited to open the doors to a new space dedicated to sharing Lacey's stories," said the City of Lacey in a statement on Thursday.
Guided tours and free monthly craft activities for all ages are available.
City Manager Rick Walk, Deputy Mayor Malcolm Miller, Council member Carolyn Cox and Council member Nicolas Dunning toured the museum on Dec. 11, 2025, well ahead of the public debut.
Walk said the exhibits reflect residents who built and shaped the community.
"The stories featured in the new (museum) remind us how innovation, resilience, community spirit — and most importantly, the people — have guided Lacey throughout its history," said Walk in a statement on Dec. 11. "In Lacey, our history shows us a simple truth: it has always been — and will always be — about the people.”
The city encouraged residents to visit the facility during the opening week.
"The museum is a place to learn, connect, and spend time with local history," said the City of Lacey. "Admission is free, so stop in and take a look."
