Lacey police have arrested a suspect accused of involvement in multiple burglaries and vandalisms.

The Lacey Police Department said in a press release that six burglaries and vandalisms targeting businesses in the southeast areas of Pacific Avenue and Lacey Boulevard have been reported since Feb. 15. Windows were broken in all cases.

On Feb. 22, Lacey police was dispatched to a report of broken windows at a restaurant on the 4600 block of Pacific Avenue.

The suspect was caught on video trying to open doors. The footage also captured the sound of breaking glass. An officer who viewed the video recognized the suspect as one of the individuals she had contacted earlier in the day.

Charges of malicious mischief for that suspect have been referred to the prosecutor, Lacey police said.

On Feb. 23, police were dispatched to another window smashing incident at a convenience store on the 1600 block of College Street.

Officers located the suspect, a 26-year-old man, and arrested him for vandalism. The suspect later admitted to police that he was responsible for two prior burglaries.

He was booked at the Thurston County Jail on burglary charges.

Lacey police said its investigation into the crimes is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incidents, or about any other crimes, were urged to call the Lacey Police Department at 360-459-4333 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
