The Lacey Police Department on Monday released details about the man who allegedly stole a car with an infant onboard last month.
Zachary Beausoleil, 19, the identified suspect, has not yet been located by authorities. An arrest warrant has been issued for the charges of second-degree kidnapping and auto theft.
On June 26, Lacey officers were dispatched to an auto theft at a gas station on College Street SE. Authorities were told that a man had his vehicle stolen from him while his baby was inside.
Later, a witness reported seeing the vehicle on the Karen Frasier Woodland Trail. The witness said a man, now identified as Beausoleil, exited the car and said something about stealing it.
When the witness confronted Beausoleil about the alleged theft, the suspect threw the key into the car and fled on foot.
The baby was found safe and asleep inside the car. Both were returned to the father.
Security cam footage of Beausoleil shows him wearing a black beanie, a camouflage jacket with a Nike logo, grayish pants, and gray shoes.
According to police, the suspect is known to frequent Thurston and Mason Counties.
Authorities are asking community members with information about the suspect to call 360-459-4333 or CrimeStoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
