The Lacey Historical Commission accepted some historical records and artifacts that will be part of the Lacey Museum's permanent collection.
At its regular meeting yesterday, Lacey Museum Curator Erin Quinn Valcho listed the recent historical acquisitions donated to the Historical Commission.
Quinn Valcho reported that the bulk of the recent acquisitions came from the city staff, including, but not limited to, newspaper clippings, utility bills, signed memorandums and brochures from previous generations.
One of its recent acquisitions is a book on the history of Lacey's Fire Department donated by Paul Webb, a fireman's son. The book is the only published account of the history of the city's fire department, according to Valcho.
The commission was also offered, but declined, a donated modern book about world history as it has no relation to the city's history.
The Historical Commission, along with the museum curator, has supervisory authority to accept or reject donations .
