Lacey seeks volunteers for key community boards

Lacey is inviting community members to apply for vacancies on its Planning Commission and Parks, Culture and Recreation Board.  

Both positions offer opportunities for residents to contribute to the city’s growth and development. 

The Planning Commission vacancy is for an unexpired term ending on Jan. 2, 2027. Applicants must live within Lacey city limits or the Lacey Urban Growth Area. 

The nine-member commission advises the city council on long-range planning goals and policies.  

Meetings occur on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 6 p.m. in City Hall, Council Chambers, at 420 College St. SE. 

For people interested in promoting community recreation and culture, the Parks, Culture, and Recreation Board also seeks a member for an unexpired term ending Nov. 17, 2027.  

Applicants must reside within Lacey city limits. This eight-member board, which includes a youth representative, advises the city council on parks, open spaces, recreational facilities and cultural programming.  

The board meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m., in City Hall, Council Chambers. 

Applications for both positions will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with the first reviews occurring within 30 days of the announcement. The positions will remain open until filled.
