Lacey unveils new city, parks websites

In a bid to offer better access to city information, the City of Lacey launched new websites for the city and its Parks, Culture and Recreation Department on Friday, April 8.

"The sites were designed with a focus on providing simple, user-friendly access to information community members are looking for," said Lacey Assistant City Manager Shannon Kelley-Fong, as quoted in the press release.

Lacey will continue to update the new websites over the next few weeks to improve accessibility and services and increase transparency.

The new websites are mobile-friendly, allowing users to browse from any device.

The websites are available in  English, Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino, and simplified Chinese; the top six languages spoken in the city.

Lacey residents can also access a centralized request system called "Lacey 311" (formerly known as "We Care"), which allows the public to ask questions, send in comments or concerns, and provide general feedback to the city through an online form. Users can also upload photos to support their concerns further.

The new sites allow users to increase contrast, display information in larger fonts and increase text spacing to be more dyslexia-friendly.

To access the new City website, visit CityOfLacey.org, and the new Lacey Parks website, visit LaceyParks.org. To learn more about Lacey 311, or to fill out a form, visit CityofLacey.org/Lacey-311.
