Posted

Veterans, transitioning service personnel and military family members are invited to attend a free career transition workshop at the Lacey Veterans Services Hub on Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Hire Heroes USA will host a four-hour workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the hub, which is located at 4232 6th Ave. SE, Suite 101, Lacey, according to a news release from the city on  Thursday, Feb. 5.

The workshop offers support for military families entering the civilian workforce.

“Whether you’re transitioning from service or supporting a military household, this workshop is designed to help you take the next step in your career,” the city said.

Topics will include transition planning, career planning, resume writing and interview preparation. Attendees will work on clarifying career goals, improving how they present themselves on paper and developing interview confidence.

To register or for more information, contact Dave Martinez from Hire Heroes USA at dmartinez@hireheroesusa.org or through the Hire Heroes USA event page.

The volunteers at Veteran's Services Hub are the BEST. THE BEST! They helped me navigate the labyrinth of Veteran's Adminstration procedures so that I could be evaluated for a disability rating. Because of their help, their guidance, I am now receiving the benefits I never knew I was eligible for.

If you're a veteran who just can't figure out what to do to get what you're owed, go to the Hub. Everyone there is expert, everyone there is understanding because they're veterans, too.

The two folks who helped me are Keith and Rose. They are TERRIFIC. I owe them so much, and all they asked for was nothing. Instead I brought cookies and pop for everyone.

I am NOT a volunteer there, but I encourage any veteran to go and talk to them. They will help you.

    The Hub ROCKS.
