How is Lacey doing? City Manager Rick Walk will stand before residents on April 29, ready to answer that question in his annual State of the City address.
The public can expect updates on active projects, budget priorities and future plans. Advisory board chairs will join Walk at the podium to brief the residents on their priorities, ongoing work and what the city has planned.
"I encourage you to attend to learn more about the (city's) direction and to stay engaged in the work we are doing together. Lacey’s future is bright, and I look forward to sharing it with you," said Walk in a statement on Thursday, April 23.
Alongside the briefings, the event will also recognize Lacey's advisory board volunteers, whom Walk called essential to decisions strengthening the city and its quality of life.
"These volunteers generously share their time, expertise, and passion to help shape decisions that move Lacey forward," he said. "I'm very grateful for their commitment."
A question and answer segment will give residents a chance to ask questions directly to Walk and board chairs about projects, priorities and plans presented.
The State of the City and Advisory Board Recognition event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Virgil S. Clarkson Lacey Senior Center, 6757 Pacific Ave. SE, which is next to Lacey Community Center. Attendance is free and open to the public.
