Lane closures along Tumwater’s Capitol Boulevard SE and Trosper Road SW intersection next week

Posted

Tumwater announced extended lane closures around the clock at the Capitol Boulevard SE and Trosper Road SW intersection from Monday, August 28 to Friday, September 8.

“During the daytime hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, traffic will remain reduced to one lane in each direction, and two-way traffic will be maintained at all times,” the city explained in a press release. “During the nighttime hours of 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday-Thursday, traffic will be reduced to a one-lane alternating, flagger-controlled work zone, as required. “

Tumwater warned motorists of expected traffic congestion along the work sites, to drive slowly through the work zones and use alternate routes if possible.

Work progress on the roads will be dependent on the weather, equipment, and project delays.

“This work is part of the Capitol Boulevard Corridor Project which will address traffic delays, pedestrian safety, and mobility deficiencies along Trosper Road SW from the I-5 overpass to Capitol Boulevard SW and the I-5 Northbound on- and off-ramps,” the city said.
