Meet author Marilyn Morgan, of newly published “Trailblazing Black Women of Washington State.” The book features more than 20 past and present trailblazers, including Evergreen State College professor and founder of Tacoma TESC campus Dr. Maxine Mimms and Dr. Dolores Silas. Dr. Silas was the first Black woman principal in the Tacoma school district. Tacoma’s Woodrow Wilson High School was renamed in her honor last year.
Marilyn Morgan is a Seattle author, historian, and photographer. Her previous books include Careers in Criminology, Baffling Murder Mysteries, and Seattle Historic Houses of Worship.
