A white Christmas is not in the cards for Thurston County. But it could be a bit wet in the region on Thursday, Dec. 25.
The National Weather Service Office in Seattle forecast calls for an 80 percent chance of precipitation on Christmas Day, with new rainfall amounts of less than one-tenth of an inch possible.
The gloominess should stick around throughout the day with mostly cloudy skies, a daytime high near 45 degrees and a north, northeast wind of 5 to 7 miles per hour.
The outlook is slightly better in the evening with a 50 percent chance of precipitation, mostly cloudy skies, a light wind and an overnight low around 36 degrees.
Rain is also likely on Friday, Dec. 26. There is an 80 percent chance of precipitation, with new rainfall amounts between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch possible.
The daytime high should be near 45 degrees, with a west, southwest wind of 6 to 11 miles per hour with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour.
There is a 60 percent chance of rain on Friday evening, mainly before 10 p.m. The overnight low should be around 33 degrees. Forecasts are subject to change.
