The RV Dump Station at the LOTT Clean Water Alliance’s Budd Inlet Treatment Plant in downtown Olympia, will expand public access beginning on Friday, April 18.
The site will now operate every Friday through Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and during all government holidays, as stated in an agency press release issued on Tuesday, April 15.
In March, LOTT launched construction to refurbish the Budd Inlet Treatment Plant’s digester system.
According to the agency, the ongoing project requires “the construction crew to transport materials and equipment across Franklin Street into the plant using a large tower crane.”
To avoid accidents during crane lifts, LOTT confirmed that the stretch of Franklin Street NE between A Avenue NE and Market Street NE will be blocked from 6 a.m. Mondays through 4:30 p.m. Thursdays to keep people and vehicles clear of active crane work.
Detour routes with clear signs will be active throughout the closure period.
The agency advised all drivers and walkers to stay alert and follow every detour route posted near the construction zone, as work will be ongoing in multiple stages for 42 months.
LOTT said the project’s finish date is planned for December 2028, and the weekday shutdowns will continue until then.
