An assisted living facility resident has been apprehended for threatening to kill a fellow resident who gave him a notice of eviction.
In the late afternoon of October 18, the Olympia Police Department received a call from an assisted living facility representative, reporting an incident involving one of the facility's fellow residents.
Last September 15, the victim informed the suspect, Lon Mobray, that he was being evicted from the facility, serving him with a 30-day notice.
Mobray's reaction to this news was allegedly aggressive, with him reportedly pushing a table towards the victim, causing items to fall off it, then shouting profanities and making a threat, vowing to "bash her skull in."
No immediate harm resulted from the incident.
Another incident happened last Wednesday, October 18, when the suspect allegedly entered the victim's home and repeated his threats to kill her, explicitly mentioning his intention to bash her head in.
Other staff members from the facility went inside the victim’s home after hearing a commotion and corroborated the victim's account of events.
"I realized that if Lon was still saying it a month out and after having been evicted, he meant to do it or have it done,” the victim told police.
During his interrogation by authorities, the suspect denied the victim's allegations, saying that when he was informed of his eviction, he promptly left the room without any incident.
"I had no issues with my neighbor, and nothing had occurred between us the night before," the suspect stated.
A physical search during the suspect's arrest yielded two baggies containing a white crystalline substance in his right-side coin pocket.
The suspect has been transported to the Thurston County Jail facing charges of felony harassment, as well as a hate crime charge, based on the profanities he allegedly directed towards the victim, which was also deemed as an attack on her gender.
