A 33-year-old man was arrested after allegedly threatening a customer outside a local coffee stand, stealing bakery items, and later damaging a police vehicle.

Tumwater Police Department officers responded to a call around 10:30 a.m. at Capitol Perks Espresso at 3302 block of Capitol Blvd. S on Thursday, July 9.

According to a police report, the suspect, identified as Bryan Hill, approached a man and demanded he purchase coffee for him. The man told the suspect he would buy him coffee, but the suspect allegedly threatened to kill him.

Witnesses said Hill threw donuts at the man and was yelling accusations about a kidnapped child inside the man’s vehicle. The suspect continued to be agitated even with police presence, prompting responding officers to detain Hill at the scene.

It was found during investigation that Hill took donuts and cookies from the coffee stand without paying.

While being transported to jail, he kicked out the rear passenger window of a patrol vehicle, causing more than $700 in damage.

“Bryan (the suspect) positioned himself horizontally and kicked my rear passenger window four times. On the fourth kick Bryan shattered my rear passenger window,” the responding officer said in the report.

It was also found out that two separate incidents were reported to law enforcement involving the suspect. One witness called authorities to report the suspect was yelling at passing cars to hit him, and the other incident stated the suspect was yelling at people and taking his pants off.

Hill was booked into Thurston County Jail on charges of harassment, third-degree theft and second-degree malicious mischief.
