A suspect arrested for assault on Jan. 9 is now a person of interest for second-degree murder after a deceased individual was discovered inside the residence where the suspect was arrested.
The suspect, identified as David Raymond Davidson, was arrested in the 2800 block of Tierney Street SW for second-degree assault and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
According to a Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) police report, detectives discovered a deceased individual inside the residence and a further investigation was conducted.
The cause of death is still unclear, but preliminary autopsy results provided enough evidence to charge the 41-year old suspect with second-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence and failure to notify the coroner or medical examiner. He also faces second-degree assault and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm charges.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect and the incident to contact TCSO detectives at detectives@co.thurston.wa.us or call at 360-786-5500.
The suspect has been in custody at the Thurston County Jail since the Jan. 9. An investigation remains ongoing.
