Thurston County Sheriff's Office has just released body-cam footage on their social media of a deputy-involved shooting that happened last July 4th.

A man called 911 and threatened the dispatch of wanting to kill someone. The video showed the conversation between the 911 dispatcher and the suspect.

Video is of the 911 call and the deputies body cam footage of the incident from the Thurston County Sheriff's Office.

Dispatch: 911, what are you reporting?
Caller: Uh, domestic violence.
Dispatch: and.. who is.. who’s being violent?
Caller: Uh, I am.
Dispatch: Okay. Okay, tell me what went on.
Caller: No, you can just send the police out here or I’ll kill somebody.

Two deputies then responded to the scene, which reportedly had a woman and three children present in the house.

A man emerged from inside the house and reportedly attacked the deputies.

One of the deputies immediately responded saying, “hey, drop it, drop it!” And then shot three times, saying, “shots fired, shots fired.” The suspect was shot and went back into the home. The gun seen on the floor immediately afterward was reportedly from the suspect.

The injured suspect was given aid and then transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital for medical attention and has been booked on two counts of assault.

Authorities released the suspect three days after the incident determining that “the suspect no longer posed an immediate danger to himself or others.”

Let me be sure I've got this straight; The subject calls the S.O. - requests deputies respond to his home while verbally threatening to kill someone. Then, when deputies respond, he brandishes a gun at them - placing them in fear of grave bodily injury or death. A deputy (quite reasonably) has to resort to the use of deadly force, fires, disables the subject, driving him back into the house. Then subsequently - according to the news report, un-named "authorities" subsequently release him. (?) RELEASE him!? What was he charged with? Why or on what grounds or conditions was he released? Who is/are the un-named authority(s) who released him? What (if any) are the conditions of his release? I would like to know the explanation as to how a subject can threaten the lives of law enforcement officers, necessitating their use of deadly force in response, and then 3 days later walk out of jail. I hope there is more to this story and that circumstances - and names - are reported.

Sounds to me like he was attempting 'suicide by cop'. But it also is very strange, charged with two counts of assault and then released? But, having seen THurston County sheriffs release a guy caught red handed cutting a catalytic converter off my grandmother's SUV, I'm not surprised. The deputy comes out, finds out the thief has a warrant from Lewis county and he released the thief right then and there because because "Our jail is full". Now my grandparents live in fear that the thief will be back, knowing it's two old people living there and he can get away with theft. Maybe, someday, home invasion as well.

Maybe now that we have a sheriff with the hunyocks to deal with low life trash , maybe next time will be different.
