MCLANE CREEK NATURE TRAIL

Posted

Inside of Capitol Forest and just beyond the beauty of Black Lake you'll find McLane Creek Nature Trail. This quiet, secluded public pathway is lined with boardwalks. Nature abounds and among the wilderness, you'll find critters of all kinds. From families of newts to beavers and boundless birds there's much to be admired along this forest trail! Spawning salmon can be observed at the right time of year from a salmon observatory that overlooks the creek.

According to the Washington Trails Association, the trail is 1.5 miles long, roundtrip and loops back to where it begins. Because the trail is inside of Capitol Forest, a Discover Pass is required to park. Dogs are allowed.
