A missing person was found deceased inside a home on the night of Jan. 9 at Tiemey Street SW in the Maytown area of Olympia.
According to a police report, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) received a missing person report and responded to the residence, where deputies encountered an uncooperative resident who refused to allow entry into the home.
Without a legal justification for forcible entry, deputies sought the assistance of other agencies and continued their investigation.
“Additional information revealed the missing individual had not been seen for several days,” TCSO reported.
Later that day, TCSO deputies and detectives responded to the same residence after receiving a report of a disturbance involving a firearm.
Probable cause for second-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm was established for the uncooperative resident, who was later identified as David Raymond Davidson, 41.
A SWAT team and crisis negotiators also responded to the scene. After negotiations, Davidson surrendered without further incident.
Law enforcement personnel searched the residence, which resulted in the discovery of the missing person’s deceased body.
Detectives have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the death and are awaiting the autopsy report from the Coroner's Office.
As of this writing, no arrests have been made in connection with the death.
Authorities urge anyone with information to contact detectives at detectives.@.co.thurston.ma.us or call dispatch at 360-704-2740.
