The Thurston Regional Planning Council (TRPC) has begun recruiting for its next executive director, the agency’s top leadership position.
The executive director oversees TRPC’s regional work in transportation, land use and environmental planning, as well as internal operations, including budgeting, staff supervision and intergovernmental coordination.
The position offers a starting salary range of $155,000 to $170,000 annually, depending on qualifications. The description was last updated in June.
According to the TRPC job announcement, the executive director also serves as head of the management team and provides policy support to the council and its committees.
Applicants should have at least eight years of progressively responsible experience in public policy, regional planning or related fields, including four years in a management role. A bachelor’s degree is required, while advanced degrees and executive training are preferred.
The position is open until filled, with the first review of applications scheduled for Sept. 14.
