The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has announced that the Coastal Community Action Program (CCAP) will provide HIV case management services in Thurston County.
DOH has been managing these services in several counties since mid-October 2023 and is now transitioning them to local organizations it says have strong community ties.
HIV case management services help individuals with HIV have access to healthcare, housing, food, medical transportation, psychosocial support, and emergency financial assistance at no cost.
CCAP has been serving patients in Grays Harbor and Pacific counties; this month, it extended its services to Thurston, Mason, and Lewis counties. The nonprofit organization is based in Aberdeen and maintains an office at 1217 Cooper Point Road NW in Olympia.
Thurston County residents may contact Andrea Vekich or Jennifer Durrin, or call 360-533-5100 for more information about these HIV case management services.
For additional information, contact the DOH via email or call 360-236-3426 or 877-376-9316.

In an era of so called "governmental waste" it's comforting to know we have The DOH to monitor cases such as these. I've heard it said that T.B. is also on the rise.
