South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) announced the opening of the new Welcome Center at its Olympia campus.
The welcome center will feature an introduction to campus life, support in understanding the college’s pathways, assistance with the enrollment process, personalized connections to programs, and community events.
“The Welcome Center is part of the college’s commitment to creating a consistent, welcoming, and student-centered experience. It will serve as a central hub where incoming students can receive personalized guidance, explore academic pathways, and connect with the resources they need to thrive at SPSCC,” the college said in an announcement abut the center.
The center is open from Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Outside of the hours, the college’s Start Here team will continue to provide similar services.
The center has already started serving students with an opening celebration slated for Welcome Week of the fall quarter.
“We’re excited to open the Welcome Center as a space where students can feel seen, supported, and empowered from the moment they step on campus,” said Erin Rust, Coordinator of Outreach and Recruitment at SPSCC, in a statement.
“Our goal is to create an environment that is open, inviting, and accessible — where every student, especially those from marginalized communities, feels a sense of belonging,” Rust added.
