The Dispute Resolution Center of Thurston County announced on Monday, Jan. 6, that it is now accepting nominees for its annual Evan Ferber Peacemaker Leadership Award.
The nonprofit primarily offers mediation services to resolve conflict and improve communication between individuals in dispute. Its services are available to families, tenants and landlords, employees and supervisors, business owners and customers, and more.
It also offers conflict coaching, training services, group facilitation and youth services.
In honor of its founding director, the award recognizes leaders in dispute resolution, civil discourse and civility. The center seeks nominees who have shown “commitment to peacemaking and community service through strengthening civil discourse and civic harmony.”
The center will prioritize nominees who reside in Thurston and south Mason counties.
People who have someone in mind who they think is deserving of this recognition may obtain a nomination form here. The deadline for nominations is March 1, 2025.
People looking to nominate an individual are advised to provide as much supporting information as possible to explain why the person deserves the award.
Nomination forms may be emailed to Joe Sanders, the organization’s community engagement manager, or sent to him at PO Box 6184, Olympia, WA 98507.
